On Wednesday, the Florida High School Athletic Association announced the 31st Annual Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team.

The program recognizes and honors 24 graduating student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. A total of 12 girls and 12 boys from all over the state will be awarded a total of $50,000 in scholarships.

P.K. Yonge senior Emma Mansfield was selected after excelling in the classroom and on the playing field.

“Being a scholar-athlete has taught me so much, but my parents always made it clear that academics come first–because that’s what will carry me through life,” Mansfield said. “I’m incredibly thankful for my parents, siblings, and the many coaches who have supported me along the way. None of this would be possible without them. I’m truly honored to receive this award. It reflects the hard work I’ve put in both in the classroom and on the field.”

Mansfield, who is a 4.0 student-athlete and ranked 18th in her class, played four years of varsity softball, baseball, and soccer.

“Emma has mastered what it means to be a scholar-athlete at P.K. Yonge and is now being recognized among the best-of-the-best academically and athletically,” said P.K. Yonge Athletic Director Valerie Flournoy. “Her journey is a testament to her dedication, time management, and an unrelenting drive to excel. She leads with grit, competes with heart, and learns with purpose.”

The standout multi-sport athlete made history as the first girl in school history to start a varsity baseball game. She also helped lead the Lady Blue Wave to their first-ever final four appearance in girls soccer last year.

“I grew up on the sidelines watching my brother play baseball, and from a young age I knew I wanted to be out on the field too,” Mansfield said. “The early passion grew into a love not just for baseball, but also for softball and soccer.”

This week, she was named to the Bosshardt Realty All Area small school soccer team after helping lead the Lady Blue Wave (16-3-1) to its fourth straight regional final appearance before falling one game shy of a second straight state semifinal appearance. She finished the season with five goals and seven assists.

“Emma is a tough, confident player who steps up to any challenge thrown at her and finds a way to strengthen our team,” said P.K. Yonge girls soccer coach Rebecca Schackow. “She handles all aspects of the game with a calm confidence that reassures those around her.”

In addition to her academic and athletic accomplishments, Mansfield is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club and coaches youth baseball.

She is also a registered member of the Cherokee Nation through Tahlequah, Oklahoma, advocating for tribal rights and representation.

“Emma has been one of PK’s most successful student-athletes over the last four years,” said P.K. Yonge AP US Government and AP Microeconomics teacher Kevin Fabulich. “She has consistently challenged herself on the fields and in the classroom. Her success in both is largely due to her hard work and determination. Even when material is challenging, Emma remains positive and sticks with it until she has it mastered. She has been exciting to watch in games and true pleasure to teach over the last four years.”

Her commitment to community service is evident in her 190+ volunteer hours. She has worked as a youth soccer camp coach and as a TOP Soccer counselor, helping teach soccer and life skills to students with learning differences.

“Emma’s success reflects not only her individual commitment, but also the values and balance that define her family and P.K. Yonge’s academics and athletics program,” Flournoy said.

Mansfield, who is the daughter of Curtis Mansfield and Heather Tree, signed to play Division-I softball at Jacksonville University, where she plans to study social work.

She currently leads the P.K. Yonge softball team with a .618 batting average through 12 games with 16 runs batted in, eight doubles, one triple and three home runs.

The Florida Dairy Farmers Academic All-State Team will honor the All-State Team and select two 2025 Scholar-Athletes of the Year in June.

P.K. Yonge also nominated Caleb Ungaro and Isabella Acuna, both outstanding scholar-athletes.
