Today’s senior spotlight is Gregory Knox, who played baseball and football for Buchholz High School.
Knox was a 2-year varsity player for the baseball team, and played defensive back and special teams for Buchholz football this past fall.
Knox, who started in left field for the Bobcats’ baseball team, was batting .292 for the 7-2 ‘Cats, with seven runs scored and six runs driven in in eight games played.
His favorite high school sports moment was beating rival Gainesville High in 8 innings last season. Head coach Ron Brooks said that Greg’s determination and desire to get better is what a coach wishes for in every player. He came to the ballpark everyday with a smile and made a big impact on the program.
Knox, who was a Scholar Athlete Award winner, will attend Santa Fe College in the fall.
