A Williston woman died in a head-on collision that also killed the other driver in Marion County on Saturday evening.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 54-year-old Miami man was driving an SUV northbound on the inside southbound lane of U.S. Highway 27 near NW 82nd Street Road. At around 6:40 p.m. he collided head-on with a 22-year-old Williston woman driving a sedan southbound on the inside lane of Highway 27.
Both vehicles rotated slightly clockwise and came to a stop at the area of the collision. The SUV was upright facing northeast and the sedan was upright facing southwest.
The Miami man—who was not seatbelted—and the Williston woman—who was wearing a seatbelt—died in the collision, FHP reported.
