A 39-year-old Williston man died Thursday morning when he was ejected from his vehicle when it overturned on US 27 Alternate.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving a 2011 Subaru north at 11 a.m. on US 27 Alternate just south of NE 158th Avenue west of Williston when his vehicle drifted into the center grass median.
The driver attempted to regain control and he traveled to the east grass shoulder where the vehicle overturned, striking a fence and gate. The driver, who was not reportedly wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported the driver to UF Health Shands Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
