An 18-year-old Wellborn woman was seriously injured Sunday when her Jeep Compass crossed the median on US Highway 19 in Dixie County, struck a concrete barrier, went airborne and overturned into a creek.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the woman was traveling southbound on US 19 near NW 610th Street northwest of Cross City when she lost control of the Jeep and entered the median, colliding with a concrete barrier. The Jeep then went airborne and overturned, coming to a final rest on its tires in a creek bottom.

Emergency responders transported the woman to a hospital with serious injuries.
