
The University of Florida specialty license plate received a redesign and is now available to the public.
According to a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) Thursday release, announced the newly redesigned plate is available at tax collector offices and license plate agencies throughout the state. Floridians who want to purchase the new plate are advised to contact their local office to ensure stock is available.
The UF specialty license plate was enacted during the 1987 legislative session. According to FLHSMV data, the plate has 92,631 valid registrations as of Dec. 9. This is the third redesign of the plate.
Revenue collected from the UF plate sales is allocated to the university for academic enhancement, including scholarships. Other specialty license plates offered in Florida can be found on the FLHSMV website.
