Kent Fuchs will officially step into the interim presidential role for UF as the Board of Trustees starts a new national search following President Ben Sasse’s resignation on July 18.
In a meeting that lasted less than 15 minutes on Tuesday, the Board of Trustees accepted Fuchs’ return to presidential duties. Fuchs served as UF’s president from 2015 to 2023 and currently teaches at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.Â
Fuchs will begin the work on Aug. 1. Sasse announced his resignation last week, but it will become effective on July 31. At Tuesday’s meeting, Sasse said he would do what he can to help in the interim. Â
Sasse will continue teaching at UF but said he needs to step back to care for his wife, diagnosed with epilepsy, and family. He worked as president for 17 months.
Here’s hoping we find out the entire story behind Sasse’s sudden stepping down as UF president.
It’s only a rumor but word is he was a disaster but then again maybe he was not sufficiently adhering to the DeSantis/Mori philosphy.
Now let’s find out the real reason for Sasse’s sudden resignantion.
Happy to have Fuchs back. Even happier to have Sasse gone.
Fuchs is in again. Back to the Future, Part IV.
It’s time for Mori Hosseini to move on from UF and finedanother state university to micromanage. UCF, maybe? They probably need Mori.
You got this right!
