A 42-year-old Starke woman died in a two-vehicle collision on State Road 26 west of Melrose on Tuesday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 49-year-old Melrose man was driving a pickup east on SR 26 near Country Road 219A at 6:51 a.m. when he left the roadway and went off the south shoulder of the road. He re-entered SR 26 and crossed the centerline into the path of the Starke woman and struck the left side of her sedan.
Emergency responders pronounced the Starke woman deceased on scene. The Melrose man sustained minor injuries.
