A Starke motorcyclist hit a deer, was ejected and then hit by a pickup along State Road 235 east of La Crosse on Friday morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a Starke man was driving his motorcycle west on State Road 235 near NW 40th Terrace at 5:43 a.m. when he struck a deer in the road and was ejected. He was struck by a pickup driven by a 23-year-old Hampton man driving east on SR 235.
Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead on scene.
