Six new COVID-19 positive tests bring Alachua County total to 21

​Six new positive tests of COVID-19 were repoorted in Alachua County, bringing the total to 21.

 “We are assuming that we have community transmission,” said Alachua County Communications Director Mark Sexton. “At this point, whether it is travel-related or community transmitted is not pertinent as all cases are equally dangerous. Moving forward, we will just report case totals.” 

Those with questions or concerns about COVID-19, including testing, should call their doctor or the Alachua County Health Department’s call center at 352-334-8810. Operators are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (after hours call 352-334-7900). The County’s 311 Critical Information Line is also available to answer questions.
