FEMA and the state of Florida will be operating new Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Levy County this week in Chiefland and Yankeetown.
The centers are used to provide one-on-one help to people who were affected by August’s Hurricane Idalia.
The DRCs provide disaster survivors with information from FEMA, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Florida state agencies. Survivors can receive help applying for federal assistance, learn about the appeals process, learn about the types of assistance available and get updates on applications.
The center schedule is:
Chiefland City Hall, 214 East Park Ave. in Chiefland
- 1 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24
Yankeetown Town Hall, 6241 Harmony Lane in Yankeetown
More stops will be announced as they are confirmed.
Currently open sites:
Columbia County, 180 E Duval St. in Lake City
- 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Closed on Sunday
Dixie County, Dixie County Public Library, 16328 SE US-19 in Cross City
