The city of High Springs announced on Monday the appointment of Jennifer Applebee as the next Parks and REC (Recreation, Education and Culture) director.
“The City of High Springs welcomes Jennifer Applebee and looks forward to her leadership in enhancing community recreation and cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike,” the city said in a press release.
A Fort White native, Applebee has worked 10 years in the city of Alachua’s recreation department, and she has produced productions at the High Springs Playhouse for eight years.
“Right now, I’m doing a lot of listening—listening to staff, residents, and players about their vision for the future of High Springs Parks & REC and how we can collectively realize that vision,” Applebee said in a release.
Congratulations Jennifer! Excellent addition!
