High Springs hires new Parks, REC director

The city of High Springs announced on Monday the appointment of Jennifer Applebee as the next Parks and REC (Recreation, Education and Culture) director.  

“The City of High Springs welcomes Jennifer Applebee and looks forward to her leadership in enhancing community recreation and cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike,” the city said in a press release. 

A Fort White native, Applebee has worked 10 years in the city of Alachua’s recreation department, and she has produced productions at the High Springs Playhouse for eight years.
