A 57-year-old Bronson man died Thursday afternoon when his pickup traveled off State Road 26 at the Trenton city limits and struck a utility pole.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving a pickup west on SR 26 at SE 7th Court at 3:29 p.m. when his vehicle traveled across the center line and onto the south shoulder of the road. The front of the pickup struck a utility pole and it rotated clockwise before coming to a stop.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
