Lake City woman dies in collision with semi near Fort White

A 63-year-old Lake City woman died Thursday morning when she pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer on State Road 47 north of Fort White.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Lake City woman was driving her sedan east on County Road 238 (Elim Church Road) at 6:05 a.m. and a 33-year-old Lake City man was driving a tractor-trailer south on State Road 47. The Lake City woman entered the intersection from a stop sign in front of the oncoming tractor trailer, which hit the left side of the sedan and caused both vehicles to overturn after the collision.

Emergency responders pronounced the Lake City woman dead on scene.
