Jasper woman dies after car travels off I-10 entrance ramp, strikes pole

A 57-year-old Jasper woman died Wednesday afternoon when her sedan traveled off the US Highway 129 entrance ramp to Interstate 10 and struck a utility pole in Suwannee County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the woman was driving her Honda 5D hatchback north on US Hwy 129 north of Live Oak at 2:45 p.m. when she approached the entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound. She then traveled off the east shoulder and struck a concrete base of a utility pole.

Emergency responders transported the woman to HCA Florida Suwannee where she died of her injuries.
