
The city of High Springs held its “Push-In Ceremony” for its two newest fire trucks on Tuesday morning.
According to a city of High Springs press release, around 100 people attended the event held at the High Springs Fire Department (HSFD).
High Springs Mayor Gloria James led the invocation with speeches from High Springs City Manager Ashley Stathatos, HSFD Chief Bruce Gillingham and High Springs City Commissioner Bryan Williams.
Williams blessed the new trucks and HSFD firefighters following the push-in ceremony.
The new vehicles included a Heavy Rescue 29, a 2023 E-One Cyclone custom chassis rescue, that replaced Squad 29, a 2006 Kenworth commercial cab light rescue unit. The second vehicle is Engine 29, a 2023 E-One Cyclone custom chassis pumper, that replaced a 2012 Pierce/Kenworth commercial cab pumper.
