Two drivers were extricated following a head-on collision Thursday night on State Road 26 (Newberry Road) east of Newberry.

According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, the collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. as ACFR and Newberry Fire Rescue responded to the call.

Both drivers required extrication from their vehicles and emergency responders transported them to a local trauma center.
