GFR extinguishes commercial building fire on NE 35th Avenue

Firefighters responded to a Wednesday night commercial building fire at the 200 block of NE 35th Avenue.

According to a Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) release, crews were sent after the smell of smoke was called in.

Firefighters from GFR stations 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8, along with GFRMD1, responded to the fire and were able to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
