Gainesville Fire Rescue firefighters extinguished a blaze at Battery Land on NW 6th Street on Friday evening.

According to a GFR release, 35 firefighters responded to the fire at 8:09 p.m. on 1535 NW 6th St.
Units arrived within five minutes of the call and searched the building for potential victims. The fire was limited to the original business and, according to GFR incident commander Don Campbell, NW 6th Street was temporarily closed so crews could access the closest fire hydrant.
No one was injured and the building’s electrical system was determined to have caused the fire.
