A 16-year-old Fort White girl died Friday morning when she pulled out in front of a passenger van at the intersection of SR 47 and CR 238.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 29-year-old Lake City man was driving a passenger van carrying 15 passengers southbound on SR 47 at 7 a.m. when he approached the intersection of County Road 238 (SW Elim Church Road). The Fort White teen was driving a sedan eastbound on CR 238 and failed to yield at the intersection, resulting in the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced the Fort White girl dead on scene.
The 16 people in the van were not injured in the collision.
