Two Otter Creek people died when their pickup collided with a school bus Wednesday morning on US Highway 19 in Levy County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 76-year-old Otter Creek man was driving a pickup west on State Road 24 and was approaching the intersection of US Highway 19 at 5:58 a.m. in Otter Creek while a 39-year-old Chiefland woman driving a school bus was traveling south on US 19 in the right lane while approaching the same intersection.

The pickup then crossed over the northbound lanes through the intersection and entered the southbound lanes, directly into the school bus’s path of travel. The school bus crashed with the pickup’s right side in a T-bone-type collision.
