A 48-year-old Branford man was killed on Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on Country Road 49 in Suwannee County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 57-year-old Palm Coast woman was driving a Ford F250 pickup west on 216th Street (Smith Road) at 3:05 p.m. and failed to stop at an intersection on CR 49 where the Branford man was driving south on CR 49 in a Nissan pickup. The Palm Coast woman’s pickup struck the left side of the Nissan pickup.
Emergency responders transported both drivers to a local hospital where the Branford man later died from his injuries. The Palm Coast woman had minor injuries.
