Body of missing diver recovered from Ginnie Springs

The International Underwater Cave Rescue and Recovery (IUCRR) team has recovered the body of a missing diver from a spring in Gilchrist County.

The Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) first learned of the missing diver on Thursday, Jan. 21, reportedly located in the NE quadrant of Gilchrist County.

GCSO in cooperation with the IUCRR recovered the missing diver, 59-year-old Thomas Brian Ellis of California at 9:08 p.m. on Friday night.

According to the report, it appears that Ellis drowned while diving at Ginnie Springs. No additional information is being released at this time until the investigation is completed.
