A Monday crash along Newberry Road killed three Alachua County residents and is still under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

According to FHP, the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of NW 109th Street and Newberry Road (SR 26), just in front of The Rock of Gainesville church.

A sedan with two Gainesville residents, a 59-year-old woman and a 90-year-old woman, left NW 109th to turn onto Newberry Road, the report said. When turning, FHP said the vehicle collided with a motorcycle traveling along Newberry Road, driven by a 31-year-old from Archer.
