The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo will host “Party for the Planet: Spring into Action” on Saturday, April 19.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3000 NW 83rd Street in Gainesville.

This family-friendly event features games, crafts, keeper talks, animal encounters and conservation activities. Guests can meet animal ambassadors, enjoy a zookeeper-led show, and participate in a scavenger hunt for prizes. Dr. Jerry Johnston will also present on Florida turtles and his Santa Fe River Turtle Project research.

A spring clean-out event from 9 a.m. to noon in Santa Fe College Parking Lot 8 will accept clothing, household items, school supplies, non-perishable food, and hazardous waste donations. Donors will receive a discount zoo admission voucher while supplies last.

Admission (available at the gate only):

  • $10 – Adults
  • $6 – Children (4–12), Seniors (60+), military, first responders, teachers, UF students/staff (with valid ID)
  • $3 – EBT recipients (up to 4 tickets per card)
  • Free – Children 3 and under, SF students, staff, retirees and zoo members
