Florida State Parks has rolled out a new reservation system just in time for Memorial Day.
“We love being the beloved destination for so many guests, many of whom make reservations almost a year in advance,” a Florida State Parks press release said.
The new online reservation system allows travelers to book a cabin, campsite or day pass for any of the 175 state parks in Florida. It went live late last week after the system was down for three days during the transition.
According to FloridaRambler.com, a state outdoors site, the state’s new system is a mixed bag.
“The new campground reservation system will be confusing the first time you use it, so you’ll need patience until you learn the nuances and maneuver through the site,” long-time journalist Bob Rountree wrote in a review. “Only parts of it are intuitive, while some actions you take are downright confusing.”
In lieu of the online system, travelers can still use the telephone. Florida State Parks takes reservations at 1-800-326-3521 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET to make reservations.
