George Guy will present the history of piety and perseverance behind the Saint Augustine Mission Church and School founded in Gainesville in 1894.  

The event will be at the Matheson History Museum on May 22 at 7 p.m. You can register for free online.  

A Matheson release notes that the Diocese of Florida founded the church, for Black Episcopalians and students, with 15 congregants before closing in 1970 and becoming Holy Trinity Church.
