Dixie County’s Bailee McQueen and Florida native A.J. Cali will share the stage in Chiefland to perform a comedic cabaret.
Held at The Chief Theatre, “The History of Wrong Guys” will feature some of Broadway’s most bitter and beautiful love songs during its 90-minute showings on May 24, 25 and 26.
McQueen based the show on a stand-up comedy routine she did in graduate school about her worst dates—a concept she also used in her award-winning screenplay “Blind Faith.” The cabaret invites the audience to be “serenaded by Florida’s finest as we laugh at a woman who just doesn’t know how to stop while she’s ahead.”
“A terrible date is my favorite kind, because it provides endless material,” McQueen said in a press release.
McQueen, an actress, singer and screenwriter, recently finished “All Shook Up” at the Garden Theatre in Orlando. Cali is an actor, comedian and musician who has performed at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
“The only thing better than AJ’s sense of humor is his beautiful voice,” McQueen said. “You don’t want to miss it.”
Tickets cost $15 per person and are available from The Chief Theatre website.
