The Gainesville Greenway Challenge will host its annual Great Invader Raider Rally on Saturday.
Courtesy of Gainesville Greenway ChallengeThe Gainesville Greenway Challenge (GGC) will host its 9th annual Great Invader Raider Rally (GIRR) on Saturday.
The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. and focuses on eradicating the region’s most aggressive invasive plants in Gainesville’s nature parks. Volunteers will remove various invasive plants, including Coral Ardisia, Caesar’s Weed, and much more.
After pulling the plants at the designated site, volunteers are welcome to a celebration at Morningside Nature Center. The event will feature food trucks, t-shirt giveaways, environmental tables, information on alternative plants, and music from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
