Halcyon Dive Systems is hosting a Farm Share food giveaway event Friday in High Springs.

The drive-thru event begins at noon and will last until 2 p.m. or when the food is gone. Halcyon Dive Systems is located at 24587 NW 178th Place in High Springs. 

As with all Farm Share events, organizers will serve food on a first come, first serve basis. The flyer announcing the event did not say how much food organizers plan to bring, but it may be less than the High Springs event in April, when demand had dropped in the wake of the recent round of government stimulus checks.

Farm Share does not currently have additional events planned in Alachua County or the immediate area, according to its schedule posted online. To check for updates, visit the Farm Share website. 

Last year Farm Share held about 22,000 food giveaway events and distributed 137 million pounds of food in Florida.
