Multiple children will their stories on Saturday at the End Gun Violence Oratorical Competition at the Greater Bethel AME Church in Gainesville.

One Nation One Project and The Education Equalizer Foundation are presenting the event that runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 701 SE 43rd St. The event is open to the public.

Young people from EEF’s College Pass program and the Akwaaba Freedom School will share their stories about how gun violence has affected them.

The first-, second- and third-place finishers will receive cash prizes for education-related expenses.

The event will feature 100 Black Men, Aces in Motion, ARTSPEAKS GNV, Changing the Mindset Inc., Expressive Song and Dance, PEAK Literacy, Ramos Strong Motivational Group and the United Way of North Central Florida.
