Cade Museum will host “Blood, Sweat, and Tears: Black Communities and Football” on Tuesday featuring a free documentary screening of “Bridging Troubled Waters: Coach Jessie Heard, Football and Desegregation” and discussions on the impact of football in Black communities.

The free event will run from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at 811 S. Main St. in Gainesville and will feature insights from Heard, who shaped the football programs at Lincoln and Buchholz High Schools, and Derrick White, author of “Blood, Sweat, and Tears: Jake Gaither, Florida A&M, and the History of Black College Football”

The first 90 registrants will receive a free copy of Derrick White’s book (must attend to claim). Register at this link.
