Are you spending Christmas in the Gainesville area and want a place to step out for a meal? Maybe you have to eat at home because you can’t pull everyone away from all their new presents.

Here’s a list of area restaurants that are open on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and Christmas Day, Dec. 25, or are preparing fresh meals for a cozy night in.

• Mi Apa Latin Cafe
  Locations: 114 SW 34th St., Gainesville; 14209 W Newberry Rd., Ste B, Jonesville; 15634 NW US Hwy 441, Alachua

Mi Apa will be closed on Christmas Day but is offering pre-made holiday meals that can be ordered with 72-hour notice through Dec. 31. Meals come with pernil roast, yellow rice, black beans, sweet plantains, a bottle of Mi Apa Mojo and a Cuban bread loaf for up to 10 people for $149 and can be picked up on Christmas Eve between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

• Peruvian Food Blessing
  Location: 7249 NW 4th Blvd, Gainesville
  Peruvian Food Blessing will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Their menu includes brunch options, spicy seafood specials and classic quesadilla and taco meals.
• Bangkok Square
  Locations: 6500 SW Archer Rd., Gainesville; 8181 NW 39th Ave., Ste 100, Gainesville
  Both Bangkok Square locations are family-owned and will be open regular hours 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and from noon to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• Gumby’s Pizza
  Location: 2028 SW 34th St., Gainesville
  “Home of the Original Pokey Stix,” Gumby’s Pizza will be open with regular hours from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Christmas Day for in-store, online and phone orders.
• Metro Diner
  Location: 2130 SW 34th St., Gainesville
  The popular breakfast, lunch and dinner spot will be open until 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.
• Chuy’s
  Location: 3410 SW Archer Rd., Gainesville
  Although Chuy’s will be closed on Christmas Day, hungry customers can grab a family meal kit ahead of time. Kit options are fajita, taco, enchiladas and nachos.
• Chef Ami
  Location: Gainesville
  Although the company will be closing the week of Christmas to give employees time with family, meal kits can be ordered from Chef Ami the week before. The service delivers fresh ingredients from local farms to your door within 24 hours and picks up, cleans and reuses the packaging each week.
• Covey Kitchen + Cocktails
  Location: Hotel Eleo at the University of Florida, 1514 SW 14th St., Gainesville
  The restaurant and will offer its regular dinner menu from 5-9 p.m. on Christmas Day and the bar will close at 11 p.m.
• Mother’s Pub and Grill
  Location: 5109 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville
  As “Gainesville’s #1 sports pub,” Mother’s will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight on Christmas Day with a full menu.
• Ocean Buffet
  Location: 6795 W Newberry Rd., Gainesville
  Offering Chinese, American, sushi, seafood and hibachi on its menu, the buffet will be open normal hours from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• Mr. Han’s Restaurant
  Location: 6944 NW 10th Pl., Gainesville
  Mr. Han’s Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day. Reservations can be made over the phone.
• Yummy House
  Location: 3102 SW 34th St., Gainesville
  With four locations across the Sunshine State, Yummy House will be serving Chinese cuisine at their Gainesville location from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• TGI Friday’s
  Location: 3075 Clark Butler Blvd., Gainesville
  TGI Fridays will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. on Christmas Day.
• IHOP
  Location: 3625 SW 13th St., Gainesville
  IHOP is open 24 hours every day 365 days a year, including on Christmas Day at the Gainesville location.
