Acrosstown Repertory Theatre will perform “Cabaret” starting on Friday and running through June 23.

The play will run at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays from June 7-23 at 3501 SW 2nd Ave., Ste. 0, in Gainesville.

“Cabaret” is directed by Andrea Young with choreography by Calypso May and music direction by Jackie Collins. The play, based on the book by Joe Masteroff, is set in a 1920s Berlin nightclub as the club’s Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret.

The play explores the tumultuous, dark and heady life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Nazi Party.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students, seniors (55+), first responders, teachers, veterans and military.
