UF Health will host the “Power Over Colorectal Cancer: A Gathering for Men and Women Who Have or Want to Prevent This Cancer” seminar on Saturday.
The event, which requires registration by clicking here, will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at Springhill Church located at 120 SE Williston Rd. in Gainesville.
The seminar, hosted by UF Health Cancer Center’s Community-Partnered Cancer Disparities Research Collaborative (CDRC) and the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, will assist people in learning about new colorectal cancer treatments, early detection and prevention from UF Health cancer experts.
Attendees can get a free colorectal cancer screening kit and also experience a giant walk-through inflatable colon to learn about the disease. On hand will be colorectal cancer survivors and their family members talking about their experiences, along with therapists, oncologists and a financial support navigator to help answer questions.
There will also be drawings for prizes and a free boxed lunch provided.
