On Tuesday, UF will offer two listening opportunities concerning the elections through the Bob Graham Center for Public Service and the Annasemble Community Orchestra.
The orchestra will perform at the Curtis Phillips Center for Performing Arts (3201 Hull Rd.) as part of the national nonprofit Play for the Vote, an initiative aimed at “amplifying voter turnout through the power of music.”
The performance will last from 5 to 7 p.m. Even after someone votes at their own polling location, the public can attend the event at the Phillips Center.
Starting at 6 p.m., the Graham Center will start its watch event at Pugh Hall Ocora (296 Buchman Drive).
A panel of three leading political experts will kick off the event and talk about election trends along with national and local races. After talking, the experts will take audience questions.
The panelists are Dr. Adam Lebovitz of the UF Hamilton Center, Dr. Myiah Hutchens of the College of Journalism and Dr. Matt Uttermark of the Department of Political Science.
Once polls close, the event will begin watching returns with snacks and opportunities to dialog with other attendees.
