
A single-vehicle accident on I-75 north of Micanopy required the driver to be extricated Thursday morning.
According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, units from ACFR and the Micanopy Fire Department responded to the accident at the 377 mile marker north of Micanopy.
Rescue crews had to locate the vehicle that was barely visible from the roadway. The vehicle left I-75 and traveled into the wood line, where it struck several trees.
The driver was extricated using hydraulic cutters and spreaders and was stabilized before emergency responders transported the patient to a local trauma center.
