UF named one of Money magazine’s top colleges

Money magazine named UF a “5-star college” on its “Best Colleges in America 2023” list.

Money debuted a new star rating system and only 34 colleges nationwide were given a “5-star.” In finding colleges that combine quality and affordability, the magazine analyzed data points that included the cost of attendance, financial aid, graduation rates, cost of attendance and alumni salaries. 

UF was also the only Florida college include don the “5-star” list.

“UF is on a rocketship trajectory, and this is another terrific recognition of all the ways we’re positively influencing families and students,” said UF President Ben Sasse in a press release. “UF is an incredible university with an incredible mission to provide our students with a life-changing education. Stay tuned: UF is a visionary place, and we’re going to move even faster and get even better.”

According to Money, UF has one of the top five best bargains in higher education. The magazine selected UF as one of the top five most affordable schools.

Along with affordability, Money examined the median graduation rates at private, public, or historically black universities and colleges. The ranking also required each institution to have a higher graduation rate than other colleges or universities of similar size.
