Families of students in pre-kindergarten through 11th grade can apply for their children to attend an Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) academic or career-technical (CTE) magnet program, starting Tuesday.

The window for applications will be open from 10 a.m. Jan. 14 through 4 p.m. Feb. 11. The applications will not be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. All applications submitted before the deadline will receive equal consideration.

To be eligible, students must meet certain academic, attendance and disciplinary requirements, and must also meet program standards to remain enrolled.

Half of the students in each magnet program will be chosen by a district-wide lottery, and the other half will be chosen by the school where the program is located.

The online process allows families to apply for up to three programs with a single application. More information about magnet programs is available on the ACPS website.

If you have specific questions about a particular magnet program, you can contact the school directly. For all other questions, email alachuamagnets@gm.sbac.edu or call (352) 955-7629.
