The Alachua eSchool is moving its office location to the Duval Early Learning Center at 2106 NE 8th Ave, down the road from its former location at the Horizon Center at 2802 NE 8th Ave.
The eSchool is not closing, only moving its administrative offices, though there are still other departments and programs at the old site, including the Volunteer & Business Partnership Program, The Education Foundation, the GET Program, and others.
Jesely Alvarez is to serve as the site administrator and principal for both Duval, which is reopening as an early education center, and the eSchool.
“Other than the change in location, the eSchool will continue to operate as usual for the 2024-25 school year, and new students are being accepted,” an ACPS statement told parents.
The School Board of Alachua County (SBAC) is set to vote on Tuesday on the renewal of a contract with Florida Virtual School (FLVS) that grants Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) a license to use FLVS’s curriculum for instruction and assessment.
The contract is to last through June 30, 2025.
Those who have questions about Alachua eSchool can contact Alvarez or another staff member at (352) 955-7584. The office is open Mondays through Thursdays during the summer.
