Incoming kindergarten families are invited to attend the annual Alachua County Public Schools Kindergarten Roundup on Wednesday, April 16.

All elementary schools that serve kindergarten students will welcome children and their parents/guardians at 2:15 p.m. to explore their future schools, meet teachers and staff and learn more about the upcoming school year.

For most schools, the first day of school for the 2025-26 academic year will be Monday, Aug. 11. The academic calendar for Rawlings Center for the Fine Arts, which operates on a year-round schedule, is still being finalized.

Under Florida law, children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1 to enroll in kindergarten. Families can begin the online registration process on April 8 at www.sbac.edu/enrollment.

For families unsure of their child’s zoned school, information is available at www.sbac.edu/enrollment or by calling the Office of Student Assignment at 352-955-7700. Schools will also remain open during the summer to assist with enrollment.
