
Around 10,800 students are expected to graduate from the University of Florida during its 17 spring commencement ceremonies slated from Wednesday, April 30, to Monday, May 5.
UF’s university-wide commencement ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, May 2, at Steve Spurrier-Florida Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (157 Gale Lemerand Dr. in Gainesville). Individual college ceremony details are available at https://commencement.ufl.edu/spring/event-schedule/.
The spring 2025 graduates will represent all 50 states and 88 counties.
The speaker for Friday’s university-wide ceremony will be Interim President Kent Fuchs. UF alumnus and entrepreneur Sachio Semmoto, who founded one of the largest telecommunications companies in Japan, will address graduates at the Doctoral Commencement Ceremony at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 1, in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center (250 Gale Lemerand Dr. in Gainesville). Semmoto will receive the Honorary Doctorate in Technology at the doctoral ceremony.
In the event of rain on Friday, graduates will be provided with a clear poncho to wear over their robes. UF will communicate with graduates and the public if lightning or severe weather results in the university-wide ceremony being delayed or canceled.
