Shooting claims teenager at Palms of Archer

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Sunday morning shooting that claimed a teenage female’s life at The Palms of Archer mobile home park in Gainesville.

According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) report, deputies were dispatched at 2:17 a.m. and located a 16-year-old shooting victim.

Emergency responders transported her to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

“We received multiple phone calls [on shots being fired],” ACSO spokesperson Kaley Behl said.

ACSO asks anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact detective Joseph Thompson at (352) 367-4176. You can also remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward for information leading to an arrest by calling Crime Stoppers at (352) 372-STOP (7867).
