Alachua County Sheriff’s Office releases name of murder victim found in apartment

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) released the name of the alleged murder victim discovered at Reflections Apartments in Gainesville on Sunday morning.

According to ACSO spokesperson Capt. Christopher Sims in an email to Mainstreet on Monday, the man found dead in the apartment complex is Aaviel Javion Hester-Guadalupe, 21.

The incident occurred Sunday morning when ACSO deputies responded to Reflections Apartments (205 SW 75th St.) about a medical emergency.

When deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive male subject in the apartment and determined he was dead.

ACSO detectives responded to the scene and, following a preliminary investigation, ruled the death as a homicide.

Crime in Gnvl is horrifying. A woman l know was raped, robbed and left homeless this pat week. A suspect is at large and a Police Report submitted. The woman has no shelter, phone or vehicle. T. Cunilio
