The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for a Ford pickup that struck and killed a female pushing her bicycle along Country Road 337 in Levy County on Friday night.
According to the FHP report, a 47-year-old Morriston woman pushing her bicycle south at 7 p.m. along the right edge of CR 337 just south of SE 59th Place was struck from behind by a Ford Ranger pickup.
The collision propelled the female bicyclist onto the west grass shoulder where emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
FHP investigators said the Ford Ranger is between a 2006-11 model and should be missing the right headlight and turn signal assembly.
Anyone with information is directed to call the FHP Regional Communications Center in Jacksonville at 800-387-1290 or CrimeStoppers of Levy County at 877-349-8477.
Editor’s note: Corrections made to the story include the Morriston woman was pushing her bicycle and not riding it and the FHP added that they did not know the color of the Ford Ranger pickup.
