The Lake City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who was involved in the shooting that injured a police officer at Sunday’s Easter celebration held at the Annie Mattox Recreation Center.

According to an LCPD release sent Thursday, gunfire erupted at 8:06 p.m. on NE Center Avenue in Lake City during an event attended by nearly 2,000 people. Lake City police and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were providing crowd control.

Gunfire was discharged from several people in the crowd and LCPD officer Marcus Hardison sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm.

LCPD released a video clip and a photo of a person involved in the incident.

Anyone who recognizes the individual, witnessed the incident, or may have additional video footage is asked to contact LCPD detectives at 386-752-4343.

Lake City police are searching for the identity of a suspect allegedly involved in the Easter celebration shooting at Annie Mattox Recreation Center on April 20.
