Lake City man receives 50-year sentence for shooting, robbery

A 23-year-old Lake City man was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison for a Gainesville home invasion robbery and attempted murder.

According to an Eighth Judicial Circuit press release, Judge Sean Brewer sentenced Kob’ie Trevellus Jaman Archer to 50 years with a 25-year minimum mandatory for the home invasion with great bodily harm and 30 years with a 25-year minimum mandatory for attempted felony murder with great bodily harm. Both sentences will be served concurrently in the Florida Department of Corrections.

The incident occurred on June 27, 2022, when Gainesville Police Department officers responded to 3000 SW 35th Place regarding a person shot.

Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, Adam Christmas Sr., inside his apartment suffering from gunshot wounds.

The officers identified multiple potential suspects and the vehicle involved. The investigation determined that Archer was the person who shot Christmas.

Archer entered an open plea on June 4, 2024 – the second day of the trial.

Two codefendants already sentenced in the case include Cedric Cohens II and Rahzon Tee-Yon Fennell-Demeritte. Judge David Kreider will sentence Freezell William Lamar Rowe on Tuesday
