Two people were arrested Saturday after various narcotics were discovered in their vehicle during a Lake City traffic stop.
According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, Sabrina Lynn Blackburn, 34, of Branford and Jacob Donovan Harper Barnett, 24, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of a controlled substance. Barnett was also charged with possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The incident stemmed from a traffic stop at 5:46 p.m. when officers pulled over the suspects for a passenger’s seatbelt violation. As officers approached the vehicle, the smell of marijuana was detected and officers could see a plastic bag containing a green plant-like substance, along with a firearm on the passenger floorboard.
Blackburn, the driver, and Barnett, the passenger, were removed from the vehicle and officers conducted a probable cause search. Various types of narcotics were discovered, including cocaine, marijuana, MDMA, oxycodone, THS and Psilocybin.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Columbia County Detention Center.
