
Update (1:30 p.m.): Law enforcement apprehended the third suspect who had been on the run since this morning in Columbia County.
According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) social media post at 1:30 p.m., the man was apprehended and area school lockdowns were lifted. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will now assume the lead in the investigation.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for a suspect at large in Columbia County.
According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) social media post, law enforcement is currently in the County Road 252B and State Road 247 area and Westside Elementary is under lockdown.
The latest information posted at 12:08 p.m. stated there will be no early dismissals or visitors allowed on the Westside Elementary campus and that extra law enforcement is in the area and on campus.
The pursuit started in Georgia this morning with CCSO deputies apprehending two of three suspects who fled a vehicle around Quail Heights Country Club in Lake City at 8:50 a.m.
